A group of jewellery, Harumi Klossowski de Rola to include a necklace composed of stained orange quartz beads alternated with three black silk panels with amethyst-set flower decorations; a freshwater pearl necklace with central silk spacer; and a freshwater pearl bracelet with central flower-shaped silk panel, all mounted in silver with adjustable clasps, signed with maker's mark (qty) Harumi Klossowski de Rola was born in 1973 as the daughter of Count Balthazar who is better known as the artist Balthus, and the highly respected Japanese painter Setsuko Ideta. Spending her early childhood in Rome, she moved with her family to the Grand Chalet in the tiny Swiss village of Rossiniere near Gstaad. In 1995, after working for Galliano in Paris, Harumi turned to jewellery design and together with her friend Charuvan Sursock-Rangsit, Princess of Thailand, has become one of the fastest rising jewellery designers in Europe. Their Asian-inspired earrings and necklaces were first shown in Geneva in November 1996, where they sold out. The coloured silk threads combined with gemstones gives an ethnic allure to their creations.
A late Victorian aesthetic movement light ash wardrobe compactum and dressing table by Shapland & Petter, the wardrobe having centre moulded cornice and gallery sides, the central fitted mirror door having press drawers over three solid and flanked by rosette and moulded panel doors with period brass handles, the dressing tables having a dentil moulded mirror with bevel plate, side drawers with wrythen taper supports, line scored decoration and a combination of drawers and platform base, stamped S&P of Barnstaple to the locks, the wardrobe 220cm H, 186cm W, 53cm D, the dressing table 137cm W.Henry Shapland had been apprenticed to a cabinet maker in Barnstaple, before travelling to America in 1851 to learn about a wave moulding machine. When back in England he was joined by Henry Petter. By 1888 the Raleigh Cabinet Works were employing hundreds of workers from Raleigh and the surrounding areas when on 5 March 1888 a fire destroyed the factory. The new factory was restarted at a new site on the River Taw, a former shipbuilding yard known as Bridge Wharf. Working together as Shapland and Petter they were to become one of the town's largest employers. They employed craftsmen but also used the most up-to-date machinery available for their products. Henry Shapland was a time-served cabinet maker and Henry Petter was an amazing salesman who found the market for their products.

An English school copper clad oak Arts and Crafts book trough, the panels with repoussé decoration, the front panel detailing a central mythical beast, possibly 'The Jabberwock' after the Jabberwocky poem published in the 1871 novel 'Through The Looking Glass' by Lewis Carroll, the beast flanked by stylised flora and fauna, flanked by panelled sides decorated with mirrored motifs of serpents encircling the trunks of trees, (unsigned), 10.5 cm high, 35 cm wide, 14.5 cm deep (measurements include oak base).
