A large Chinese 18th century export porcelain famille rose bowl, painted polychrome figures with garden scene in under glaze blue floral panels, interior with a band of blue stylish panel and coloured bird in the centre, 18th century, 23cm diam. U shape glaze crack to the edge of foot rim and tiny chip to rim, otherwise in good condition. Provenance: From Hampstead Local Collector
Iwo Jima.A large display panel featuring the iconic photograph of U.S. Marines raising the Stars and Stripes over Mount Suribachi on the island of Iwo Jima on 23rd. March 1945, signed by John H. Bradley, 28th.Regiment,5th. Division, US Medical Corps,"Last Survivor of this picture". John Bradley, born 1923, awarded the Navy Cross, died in 1994. It is now believed that he actually figured in an earlier photo of the raising of the flag when it happened, about 90 minutes earlier, not in this reconstruction for the newsreels. The display includes an aerial view of Iwo Jima, shots of the briefing before the amphibian assault and the beach assault, a diagram of the attack sequence, casualty list, awards and a newspaper cutting of John Bradley as a civilian in later life. 55x46cm.
A good quality Victorian walnut knee-hole writing desk, the rectangular top on inverted breakfront form with inset writing surface above a frieze drawer and five graduated cock beaded drawers to each pedestal flanked by fluted and spiral turned pilasters on a plinth, the reverse with similar pilasters enclosing a plain panel, the central drawer stamped C Hindley & Sons, 54 Oxford Street, London and numbered 46593, 146cm wide, 81cm deep, 76cm high, knee clearance height 62cm.
William Lancaster, Plymouth Dock, a late-18th century mahogany long case clock, the arched hood, (finials lacking), above an arch waist panel door enclosed by fluted canted corners, on plinth base and bracket feet, the restored arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, calendar aperture and second subsidiary, scenic engraving to the centre, the twin-trained eight-day movement striking on a bell, two lead weights and pendulum, 208cm high.

A rare late 18th Century ivory shuttle French, probably Dieppe, the upper face pierced and carved with a young lady on a terrace carrying a basket of fruit within garlands of flowers, ribbands and scrolls on a trellis ground, the obverse plain save for a panel of two diamonds, 16.5 x 4.2cm A very similar shuttle is illustrated in Whiting (G) Old-Time Tools and Toys of Needlework Page 244 then in the collection of Mrs De Witt Clinton Cohen, New York It is likely that this shuttle was originally composed of two corresponding panels and that the plain obverse is a replacement. The pierced and carved face has some minor loss and old repairs, the fragility of shuttles of this nature mean survival is very rare.
