SET OF TWELVE ART DECO PAINTED GLASS PANELS from a Victorian conservatory, each with central cartouche depicting mountainous and lakeside landscapes, contained within a linear border, predominantly in orange, purple, brown, blue and black, seven panels 29.5cm high, 88cm long, four panels 29.5cm high, 132cm long and the largest panel 123cm high, 60cm long, some panels with losses to corners
A six panel Chinese screen, the red ground decorated with various figures in traditional dress in a garden setting, together with a stained rosewood effect picture frame decorated with Oriental figures (2) CONDITION REPORTS Each panel is approx 35.5cm wide x 173cm high. Panels are not joined. There are losses to corners and sides, chips, etc, various surface scuffs and scratches, splash marks, runs, dirt. Panels have been numbered in chalk. Picture frame has splits, and bubbling to veneer, but generally sound to the joints, dirt, scuffs and scrapes all over.
A Victorian oak wellington chest, the plain top above four full front cupboard doors raised on a plinth base CONDITION REPORTS Approx 50.5cm deep, 62cm long, 93cm high. Top has some splits and waterstains and scratches, dents, chips. There is wear to the varnish on fall front doors and wear where doors hit the handle below. no keys. Some loss to the carving on top of left column. Wear and tear, knocks, chips, significant scuffing to corners of pillars at bases. Left panel is split.
A 17th Century Cyprus chest with planked cypress top, the front panel decorated with low relief carving depicting mythical beasts, the top opening to reveal iron ring hinges, on later castors CONDITION REPORTS Top has various splits especially to the central plank, chips and losses to the edges,. Many impressed marks and scratches throughout. Some nails have been driven in to the top, perhaps once holding a plaque? Planks are loose to the top. Locking mechanism to the lid is missing, candle box to the right side is missing. Various splits to the interior, splits to the replaced bottom board. Large knot to left side revealing resulting split and loss. Probably replacement bracing bars to corners. Left side has further evidence of the knot and resulting loss and split. Some minor splits to the front, and back, light scratches etc. Right side has large split, some losses, various scratches, scuffs, etc, Bottom board has some age but has been replaced. Casters probably later additions. 132.5 cm x 53 cm
An early 19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, the broken swan neck pediment above arched painted dial set with rolling moon phase and inscribed "Glover, St Helens, Feckit", with eight day movement above an inlaid panel, arched short door and plinth base, height approx 240cm.
A large and impressive 19th century French oak Gothic side cabinet, the upper section with pierced fleur-de-lis and quatrefoil frieze centred with a grotesque figure above a castellated pilaster before a carved panel of fighting figures, with two pierced slides and fluted pillars above a bowfronted central cupboard with ornate brass strap decoration, detailed ornate carving, two further cupboard doors, three frieze drawers, further fluted pillars, and a bracket plinth base, bearing label to the back "Le Garde Meuble Public, Bedel and Cie, 18 Rue St Augustin", and numbered 16176, width 146cm, height 270cm. CONDITION REPORT: Minor staining to centre surface and minor losses to lattice work. Scuffing to pot board, fretwork missing but present, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
