A heavy quality Arts & Crafts style silver coloured casket, prominent strap hinges to sloping lid inset with QSA medal and clasp (illegible), front panel later engraved in stylized capitals “William Frederick Adams Imperial Light Horse”, on 4 ball feet, 5¼” x 3¼” x 2¼” (max), hammered finish, polished overall. GC Note: Adams was k.i.a., Defence of Ladysmith, 7th Jan 1900.
An interesting mid 19th century sidearm, plated straight SE blade 24½”, DE at point, etched “William Hatley Bacon” in scroll and foliate panel on one side, brass stirrup hilt with pronounced quillon (bent), langets, plain pommel and backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its leather scabbard with brass chape and locket with frog stud. Basically GC (some pitting to blade edges and wear to plating)

A small 19th century Turkish flintlock blunderbuss, 17½” overall, 2 stage swamped iron barrel 8½”, the muzzle diameter 1¾”, the breech section chiselled with foliage, flower head and crossed cannon; the slightly rounded lock chiselled with sunken panel and crossed cannon; fullstocked with continental style butt, inlaid overall with brass wire scrolls, leaves and pique studs, brass mounts including engraved trigger guard and butt plate tang, with small looped iron saddle bar on left side. Basically GC (action AF, slightly worn overall, cock a replacement, butt plate slightly damaged)
Continental School (17th century), oil on copper - portrait of a lady wearing a veil and holding keys, inscribed 'Masara Da Chiave', 18cm x 14cm, early giltwood frame CONDITION REPORT Copper panel is slightly misshapen, some paint losses towards outer edges, larger losses centre right, top right surface residue but mostly ok, frame ok
Early 19th century Italian School oil on canvas laid on panel - a scene from The Merchant of Venice, with Shylock and Jessica by the Bridge of Sighs, Venice, in gilt frame, 74cm x 46cm CONDITION REPORT Unsigned and not dated. Generally good condition although some flaking to paint on the bottom edge. Some old restoration presumably from when it was laid on the panel. A few old wood worm holes visible from the reverse of the panel
Fine late 19th century French kingwood, ormolu mounted and Sèvres-style porcelain inset bonheur du jour in the Louis XV style, the upper arched section with pierced rococo surmount and scrolled finials, enclosed by a pair of panelled doors, each centred by oval Cupid painted porcelain panel with two short drawers below, the serpentine-shaped base having porcelain panels painted with exotic birds to the single drawer, on slender cabriole legs, 73cm wide x 52cm deep x 150cm high CONDITION REPORT Good original condition. Both ormalu near leg terminals are missing, one porcelain panel in front drawer cracked, minor chips to veneer
Highly unusual George II walnut crossbanded and line-inlaid estate desk with hinged fold-over moulded top enclosing interior of short drawers and pigeon holes, having faux drawer frieze and six drawers about the cupboard kneehole, on bracket feet, 85cm wide x 50cm deep x 80cm high CONDITION REPORT Some replaced veneers to top, some water stains and splits to sides, a few small veneer losses to moulding, a few worm holes particularly on kneehole. Secret draws to fitted interior, front frieze, recessed via sliding panel. Overall good colour, basically good overall order
Late 19th / early 20th century Chinese silver mug of baluster form, with embossed panel of Chinese characters and figurative scenes, dragon and pearl handle, on circular base (underside with Chinese character marks). All at approximately 7ozs, 10.3cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good, some minor surface wear and scratching. Rim and foot distorted. Otherwise no sign of major damage or repair
