The mid 18th century oak cased thirty hour long case clock by Stringer of StockportHaving a two tier moulded cornice above ring turned tapering three quarter columns flanking the twelve inch brass dial applied with a silvered bezel painted with Roman and Arabic numerals and the maker's name ,embraced by applied scrolling openwork spandrels, the dial with a subsidiary second dial and date aperture with a thirty hour movement, the plain case with a cockbeaded drawer above a conforming lower panel and plinth base with pendulum and clock key, 197cm high. Provenance the Robinson collection with invoice from Stephanie Davidson Antiques dated May 2005.

Height 193cm. Provenance the Robinson collection with receipt from Adams Antiques, Nantwich, dated February 2003.

A late 18th, early 19th century oak and mahogany longcase eight day clock by Joseph Wild, MacclesfieldWith a moulded cornice above a 13 inch painted dial enclosed by painted floral and fruit spandrels with painted Arabic and Roman numerals and a central painted rolling moon aperture above a date aperture, signed by the maker, having a two train eight day movement striking on a saucer bell, the hood with tapering pillars of square section above the case with a central inlaid conch shell above a shaped crossbanded door the lower panel similarly crossbanded with canted corners and raised on a plinth base, complete with weights, key and pendulum. Height of clock 202cm. Provenance the Robinson collection.
