A fine and almost completed 6 inch scale model of a Burrell Compound road locomotive, having steel boiler with fittings including water sight glass, steam pressure gauge, regulator, lever operated fire box door, eccentric driven open crank with connecting rods having cross-head guides with brass oiler cups, the cylinder block mounted mid-way along the steel boiler and fitted with Foster mechanical ratchet oiler system, safety valves, steam whistle and Pickering type speed governor. The steam chest cover bearing cast panel 'Chas Burrell & Sons Limited Manufacturers, Thetford England No 4032. The traction engine fitted with belly water tanks, solid disc flywheel, worm and chain steering, back wheel winch drum with associated fairlead. Graduated quadrant with direction control lever, re-cycling water pump and many other usual features. The model finished in grey, red and black livery with detailed bolt and rivet-work, brass capped chimney, checker plate drivers steps and having spoked and straked wheels.Boiler History: No boiler history available. A well-engineered 3 1/2 inch gauge model of a live steam 0-4-0 tank locomotive 'Juliet', built to the design by LBSC from Reeves castings of Birmingham, the silver soldered copper boiler having back-head fittings including steam pressure gauge, water sight glass, regulator, drains, direction control quadrant and hand-operated brake to cab side.The chassis having twin outside cylinders, polished motion, clacks, couplings, ratchet oiler system fitted to front of locomotive and concealed under front panel with hand lever operated water feed pump in side tank. The model finished in black enamel painted livery with fitted steps, hand-irons, buffers, brass framed porthole cab windows, removable back panel to cab for ease of driving. Two firing tools.
