An Art Deco Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case, Adie Bros, Birmingham 1934/35, the cover with sky blue enamel over an engine turned ground and with dark blue enamel corner accents, gilt interior, 8.3cm long, 2oz 18dwt Crisp clear marks to interior. Two small chips to the enamel to one corner of the main panel. Some scratches in places. Closing correctly and thumbpiece working.

16th century English School, Head of Christ, inscribed extensively (see notes), oil on panel, 9¾in x 7¾in (24.75cm x 19.75cm), framed. The inscription reads: This present figure is the symylytude of Jesus our saviour imprinted in amyrald by the predecessors of the great Turk and sent unto the Bishop of Rom named Innocent the VIII for a token by the great Turk for to redeme his Brother that was taken prisoner Note : This depiction of Jesus in profile is derived from an image engraved on the Emerald Vernicle in the collection of the Vatican. Around 1429, Sultan Bajazet 11 of Constantinople, The Great Turk, gave the emerald, carved with the profile of Jesus, to Pope Innocent VIII. Bajazet proffered the emerald to ensure that his brother would remain in Papal custody, thus securing his own unhindered accession to the throne. The inscription below the portrait relates to this story, although the painter has changed the intention behind the gift
