Early C19th English porcelain blue and gilt bordered dessert plate, the centre painted with various fruit, with red painted pattern number 'SP / 4718' to one side of the central panel, possibly Ridgways, 9.3ins. dia. (see illustration). Biblio. - 'Goddens New Guide To English Porcelain', p. 66, refers to these single pattern plates with the pattern number on the front rather than the back, as rare and probably used as samples.
Rare pair of early C19th Worcester Flight Barr and Barr miniature ewers with sieve spouts and apple green grounds, each with a painted panel, one entitled 'Worcester', the other 'Malvern', each with red painted mark 'Flight Barr and Barr Worcester and No.1 Coventry Street London', the former with restoration to base and handle, each 4.8ins. high (2) (see illustration).
AN UNUSUAL POWDER FLASK, POSSIBLY ITALIAN, 19th century, 12in. long, comprising a silver-plated inner covered with a pierced and carved cow-horn outer depicting images from Roman legend including Romulus and Remus being suckled by the wolf, a portrait bust of an Emperor surrounded by a laurel wreath, a charioteer and a foot-soldier with columns in the background (possibly gladiators in the Coliseum), and a Roman soldier standing at the bottom of a staircase with a woman looking on from the top of the stairs, near the neck of the flask a heart-shaped panel is engraved with 'FEKETE', silver-plated nozzle with sprung iron cap.
