A circa 1900 mahogany framed and double caned Bergere armchair in the Regency style with guilloche, barley twist and fluted carving, 62 cm wide x 95 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Please see images of cane work without cushion. Please note, areas of damage to caning to the left hand outer side bottom right panel, left hand inside just off centre and right hand side outer panel bottom left. Otherwise cane work appears basically sound. There are signs of wear and tear conducive with age throughout. The seat assumed to be formerly caned with a fabric covering and with replacement inner seat rails - all done some time ago. Joints appear basically sound though the top right of the back has a split. See images for further detail.
A pair of 17th Century French carved oak stiles as gryhons 72 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Various losses etc throughout including two toes. There is a visible line to both across the legs of the gryphons. One has a split/losses to the back board at the base, the other has a repair to the lower right hand corner, part of the back panel has been off and re-glued. There are various pin/nail holes visible to the back and both have later applied hooks. General wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details

A Coalport teacup and saucercirca 1851-61decorated in the Sevres-style with an oval panel of seated lovers in woodland landscape reserved against an overall bright pink ground, with gilded detail to the borders, CBD mark in gilt, cup 6.5cm high and saucer 14cm diameter(2)Provenance: The Malcolm Sargeant Collection.The pink ground is very patchy and faded, particularly to the cup. The painted panel has a couple of scratches through the gentleman's upper clothing. The saucer has a restored rim chip.

A set of four Chinese inlaid lacquer panels, Republic period, of rectangular outline and vertical aspect, combining to form a scene of eight noble ladies at leisure in a formal garden before a pavilion, the black lacquer inlaid with coloured soapstone and bone, each 91cm x 30cm. (4)Some minor cracklure to the lacquer ground, more pronounced on one panel. Some small chips top middle of each from storage. Further small chips to a few corners.

A 19th century Kashmir paisley shawl, with typical stylised flowers and both forms within a panel border, 193cm x 185cm.Generally fair condition with reasonable colour throughout. There are a few small holes to the tip of one of the boteh and a small hole to another boteh. Evidence of small repairs in places. The central panel is faded and has some small repairs, presumably to moth damage. Please refer to images.
A French gilt metal and porcelain Louis XV style clock garniture, late 19th centuryThe clock with urn finial above an arched case inset with a porcelain panel painted with a bucolic scene, flanked by porcelain columns, the porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals around a flower garland, the flanking vases of amphora shape on arched pedestal bases, decorated with rustic landscapes reserved against a claret ground, the ormolu style elements with a partial 'virdigris' finish, clock 42cm high, vases 37cm high.The ormolu style elements to this clock are an alloy, likely spelter. The case and flanking vases appear fair to good with minor signs of age and use. One vase central bolt is a little loose and requires straightening and tightening. The movement winds and strikes but currently has no pendulum so not tested for timekeeping or longevity.
A late 17th century/early 18th century lacquered longcase clock, the later associated case with chinoiserie decoration, the rectangular hood with an ogee cornice above an arched door, enclosing a dial with a possibly later arch with a silvered convex boss engraved 'John Smart, London', flanked by a relief moulded dolphin on each side, above a 12" dial with pierced and moulded foliate spandrels, subsidiary dial for seconds, date aperture and Roman numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers, over a long trunk door decorated and relief moulded with figures and a building over a swan, the base with a chinoiserie panel, raised on a plinth, the 8-day movement with anchor escapement and 4 pillars, striking on a bell, with two weights, pendulum, key and a winder, 216cm high (8)A John Smart is listed as working from 1674-1682 and as being apprenticed to J.Johnson on the third of August 1674. He was given freedom of the Clockmaker's Company on the 29th of September 1682.Frederick James Britten, Britten's Old Clocks and Watches, 9th edition, page 603.Restorations, including lacquer and paint decoration. Case later than dial/movement. Arch on dial possibly later, as in two distinct sections, although done a very long time ago - from consistency of patina and braces etc used probably 18thC. Silvering on chapter ring and boss worn. Hands later.Minor chips, dents and scratches consistent with age and use. Some bubbling on lacquerwork, especially whole of left side of trunk.Operational in vendor's home, but told that careful balancing of clock needed.
Two period oak internal doors, 17th and 18th centuries, of typical panelled construction, 70x172cm and 76x174cm. (2)Both have iron hinges but are lacking any other hardware: locks/handles. The smaller example is painted white to one side and has some shrinkage to the panel joints. General wear and signs of age and use throughout. No evidence of worm.The larger also has shrinkage to panel joints and general signs of age and use throughout including some filler to the centre rail suggesting the door was turned at some point. No evidence of worm.
A Victorian figured walnut tabletop stereoscope with sliding fret cut main panel and hinged eyepiece, sold with two boxed sets of 'The Edinburgh Stereoscopic Atlas of Anatomy (New Edition Section III & IV)', also a Paragon China plate detailing the University of Aberdeen extension 1906, designed and produced for J. W. Baker, and a similar gilt decorated example (5). CONDITION REPORT Overall very good but used condition, showing light signs of use including minor scuffs, scrapes, chips, etc. The cases for the stereoscopic cards are worn, as to be expected. The two cabinet plates appear to be in good order.
A reproduction gilt brass fire screen with acanthus leaf decoration and mesh centre panel, also an oak coal scuttle with applied brass panel to the front and a brass fender (3). CONDITION REPORT Fire screen: The mesh panel is a bit loose in the top right corner, where there are two of the retaining screws missing. Slightly misshapen to the left hand side. Otherwise appears ok.Fender: Also appears in fairly good order, apart from excess polish to some of the detail in the corners and separate mountings. Coal Scuttle: Well worn with large areas of the stain faded away to the top surface. The handle is loose. The shovel has scraped the side of the scuttle itself. One of the hinges is missing a retaining screw and the other hinge has a split and the peg is sticking out. It has the original liner. The majority of the wear appears commensurate with age and use.
A Victorian hallmarked silver shell dish with raised shield initialled 'C' to the handle, on three conch shell feet, Goldsmith & Silversmiths Co, Regent Street London, Sheffield 1888, together with a hallmarked silver napkin ring with central engine turned band, rectangle panel initialled, 'SMB', a border of flowers either side, and a cased silver apostle spoon, approx 4ozt (3).

A late 19th/early 20th century French brass carriage clock, the white dial set with Roman numeral increments, four glazed panels to front, back and sides, with an oval viewing glass panel to the top, brass swing handle and stepped base, the movement marked 'Paris', together with a late 19th century Chinese lacquered wooden box, 10 x 21 x 15cm (2). CONDITION REPORT Carriage clock: the back bevel edged glass panel has damage to the top right corner. The brass has signs of wear and patina. At the time of cataloguing, it appears to be in working order, however this is no guarantee of working order.
