A steel barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, by I Heylin, c 1780, 14½” overall, swamped steel barrel 8” with Tower private proofs and maker’s mark, the flat topped breech with traces of address in panel; signed lock with dog tooth border and broad safety catch; dark walnut fullstock with shell carving around breech tang inset with small brass crowned cypher, the butt carved, probably in the middle east, with a stylised “Saracen” mask, the eyes and fore head inset with roughly cut stones; the brass mounts comprise long spurred butt cap with recessed scrolled panels and finial deeply embossed with trophy of arms and cuirass, flower engraved trigger guard with acanthus finial, elaborate escutcheon with trophy of arms, helmet crest, and engraved with Union flag, and openwork sideplate embossed with castle and trophy of flags; the ramrod pipes of steel, the ramrod with horn tip and iron worm. GWO & C (light rusting to barrel and ramrod pipes). Plate 5

A late 18th century Percy Tenantry infantry officer’s sword, slightly curved, fullered blade 28”, with narrow back fuller to central section, etched on both sides with devices (unclear) and foliage, copper gilt stirrup hilt with crossguard and quillon, sideloop, knucklebow, with ring at the top, into octagonal section domed pommel, crosshatched ebony grip with line engraved middle band and oval panel with Percy Tenantry crescent in crowned title strap. GC the hilt retaining approx 60% gilt (dark patina, wear and some pitting to blade, hilt mis-shapen) Plate 10

Royal/Exchange London”, brass stepped lock signed in oval panel and with roller on the frizzen spring; walnut fullstock with flat sided butt, the plain brass mounts include trigger guard with acorn finial. GWO & C, with pleasing age patina (ramrod replaced, the cock probably a contemporary replacement). Plate 3
