An Irish elm and oak longcase clock, fretted cresting to hood, fluted columns, modillion cornice and carved frieze, 30.5cm square enamel dial subsidiary seconds dial, silvered date aperture, associated 8-day movement striking on a bell, inscribed Chas. Macnally/ Londonderry, trunk with rectangular door, fluted canted angles 203cm high Charles MacNally was working in Ulster from c. 1820 signing both from Omagh and Londonderry, before migrating to Canada c. 1830 and settling down as a maker in York, Ontario (then still capital of Upper Canada). Condition Report: Base panel water stained and cracked, associated movement and dial good
2nd Battalion Essex Regiment 56th Infantry Brigade 49th Division Combination, embroidered white on red Essex regiment shoulder title with embroidered 49th division formation sign, two red felt bars and embroidered 56th infantry brigade formation sign. Insignia is all mounted on a panel of battle dress cloth. Insignia remains in good condition.
8th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Kilt of tartan cloth with embroidered decoration panel with green rosettes. Complete with leather straps. Standard issue quality. Original issue label to the inside but this is well worn and no details are visible. Kilt appears to be of WW2 vintage. ** The 8th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders served with the 51st Highland Division in France, 1940, escaping the German advance through Le Havre, after suffering heavy casualties in the retreat. Reforming back in Scotland, they were sent to Tunisia and later served in Sicily and up through Italy.
Rene Paul Marquet (French, 1875-1939). A gilt bronze and carved ivory and enamel figure, 'Princess Una', applied with cabochon, turquoise and lapis lazuli stones and holding a book, with enamelled George and the Dragon decorated panel, on rectangular pink onyx base, signed R. Marquet and numbered 6077, 14.5in.
