Yattendon Court, Berkshire was purchased by Alfred Waterhouse RA in 1876 and extended by the architect. It was later completely pulled down in 1925. Condition report: Please see extra images of the top of the small pietra dura music box. There is a key. The music mechanism does work but there is no guarantee of it’s working order and a full clean and service is recommended by a specialist. The box with a few minor scuffs and small dents commensurate with wear and use. The paper weight with a few small nicks to the edges an corners. The glass well separates from base. Wear and tarnishing.The other pieces with inevitable scuffs, scratches, dents, small chips and marks commensurate with wear, use and age.

The hilt with nickel grip of checkered design, this has been personalised by two concentric rings to the base near the crossguard. Double edged spear point blade, the forte with etched panel Wilkinson Sword Ltd. London, the reverse side the F-S Fighting Knife. Recurved crossguard. Housed in an early pattern, brown leather scabbard with nickel rounded chape. Tailored with elasticated retaining strap, tangs period removed. The overall condition is good clean bright, with minor age wear. Blade length 17.5cm The scabbard is the type for second pattern 1st type dagger and was commonly used in conjunction with the 1st type dagger

Top of comb with floral decorated plume mount containing short horsehair plume. The rear of the comb with long horsehair tail. Leather crown panel with painted leopard effect on cloth. Lower brass peak and rear brim. Side floral cockades supporting the leather back, brass chin chain. Side mounted, brass plume holder with short black horsehair plume. Lining absent. Helmet now in need of some restoration.
