A diamond star brooch, highlighted with graduated cushion-shaped old-cut diamonds and rose-cut diamond points, on later bar fitting with single-cut diamond accents, total weight of old-cut diamonds approximately 1.80ct, length 5.2cmCondition report: The old-cut diamonds have variable colour and clarity, some stones with chips/surface-reaching fractures, some stones drawing yellowish tints, estimated SI1 to P2 clarity and I to L colour, assessed mounted. Old-cut diamonds graduate from approx. 0.40ct to 0.02ct in size, the largest diamond measuring approx. 5mm length x 4.7mm width (depth unknown). The rose-cut diamonds have a typically greyish and included appearance, some with surface fractures. The single-cut diamonds are mostly well matched and fairly bright, with a total weight of approx. 0.07ct. The bar-shaped panel and fitting have been later added to the star panel, and the whole piece has probably been rhodium plated to give a white finish. There is a little looseness at the junctions of the star to the bar and the mount has scuffs, scratches, nicks and chips throughout, commensurate for use. The brooch pin is functioning. A 19th century turquoise and half pearl panel ring, with floral engraved shoulders, (shank later extended, half pearls untested for origin), ring size PFootnote: Some of the turquoise cabochons and half pearls are later replaced and have a brighter hue/lustre. The turquoises have pitting, scuffs, chips and brownish vein inclusions, some with glue residue. The half pearls have chips, fractures, ripples and surface blemishes, some with glue residue. The head of the ring is fitted with a glass or rock crystal panel/cabochon to the centre, with a foil backing and surface wear. The foiling has discoloured and has a large dark area to one side that is visible to the eye. One side of the head has two small holes that may require repair and the mount has signs of general wear throughout, with patchy thinning to the edges of the settings and rubbing to the engraved decoration. The back of the shank has been re-sized with a later added section of a slightly rose-coloured hue. Width of head approx. 8.5mm. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 2gm.

The largest diamonds are each drawing a yellowish tint and measure approximately 0.65ct, 0.50ct and 0.22ct respectively. The largest diamond measures approx. 5.7mm length x 5.7mm width x 3mm depth, the second largest diamond measures approx. 5.4mm length x 4.4mm width x 3.1mm depth. Diamonds have estimated J to M (tinted) colour and SI1 to P2 clarity, assessed mounted. There are two splits to the back of the brooch frame, where the stems has become detached, and a substantial solder repair with later reinforcing panel to the front of the brooch, at the base of the flowerhead. It is possible that the flowerhead was originally 'en tremblant', but is now fixed to the frame. There are further dark solder joins/repairs at junctions within the frame and a reinforcing solder repair to the back of one of the larger single settings. The mount has general surface wear, scuffs and nicks/chips throughout, with patchy tarnishing and some thinning to the edges of the settings. The brooch pin is a later replacement and currently functioning. The mount would have originally had a detachable fitting, hence the vacant threaded aperture. Metal standard is untested. A 19th century Berlin ironwork panel bracelet, designed as a series of alternating foliate and Gothic Revival tracery panels, length 17.5cm, width 5.4cmCondition report: One of the panels is missing a small section to one of the foliate terminals. Most of panels have slight differences to the design, assumed to be part of the original casting process. All panels have scuffs and nicks/chips throughout, commensurate for age and use, with wear to high points of the decoration. Some of the connecting jump rings may be later replaced. A sapphire and diamond pendant necklace, designed as a crescent-shaped panel with central cluster, the principal cushion-shaped sapphire bordered by old and single-cut diamonds, between channels of alternating similarly cut sapphires and diamonds, adapted with a later trace-link back chain stamped '9C', total diamond weight approximately 0.45ct, pendant width 4.2cm, necklace length 46cmCondition report: Sapphires are well matched, of mid purplish-blue hues, with good transparency and areas of whiteish colour zoning visible under magnification. One of the smaller outer sapphires is chipped, the remaining sapphires have light facet edge abrasion. Largest sapphire dimensions approx. 5mm length x 4.5mm width x 2.5mm depth. Diamonds are mostly well matched, bright and lively. One of the smaller outer diamonds is chipped, the remaining diamonds have estimated VS2 to SI2 clarity and H to K colour, assessed mounted. Length of central cluster approx. 9.5mm. The crescent has surface wear, scuffs, nicks and patchy tarnishing/firestaining, with wear to the tips and edges of the settings. Some of the claws may require re-tipping. The crescent is likely to originally have been a brooch and has been adapted as a necklace with a later added chain. The necklace stringing is loose in places and the clasp is functioning, but has chips and losses to the enamel border. Diamonds are well matched and fairly bright, total weight approx. 0.04ct. Metal standard is untested. The pendant bale is scuffed and scratched, revealing a yellowish metal beneath, and has worn grooves to the inside from prior use.
