A LATE VICTORIAN ESSEX CRYSTAL PENDANT OF A LONG HAIRED TERRIER CIRCA 1890The circular cabochon Essex crystal carved with a white and tan terrier with a blue collar and gold coloured tag, the gold mount with a border of cushion cut rubies and rose cut diamondsSize/dimensions: 2.5cm diameterGross weight: 6.5 gramsCondition Report: The setting has had a few lead solder repairs, visible from the reverse, the crystal panel doesn't have a back, and when pushed from the front it can pop out of the back of the setting. There is minor paint loss to the right hand side of the tufts of fur. The crystal has no apparent nicks, chips or scuffs. All rubies and diamonds are present and appear original, the rubies ahve some surface scuffing but no apparent chips. The whole length of the pendant including the bale is 3.5cm long. The outer diameter of the whole pendant mount is 2.5ccm. The diameter of the crystal is 1.4cm.Condition Report Disclaimer

There is denting to the back panels, some thinning to the links from use. The back chain has cone from another piece, it has some use, the clasp is in working order. The diamonds are all present and correct, bright and lively, the pearl drop has yellowed glue around the top and could be a cultured pearl, there are a couple of patches of lead solder to the pendant setting, some solder repairs to linked sections, fairly well done, one small section has not been soldered but the panel appears stable. A fine 18th century longcase clock by Joshua Hewlett, Bristol. The English 8-day movement, 8-bell quarter chiming and 9th bell for hours, flat silvered, engraved brass dial, Roman numerals to chapter ring, subsidiary Arabic minutes, with moon phase, tide dial to arch, blued steel hands and mahogany case with blind fretting. CONDITION REPORT: There is a split to the lower case which has gone all the way through the panel, splitting it in two. There are natural cracks forming to parts of the clock including the door escutcheon, sides of hood etc. There is a section of moulding detached from the right side of the case beneath the hood, the piece is present. There is another thinner strip of moulding beneath this which is missing. There are old repairs and some small losses to the fretwork and dentil moulding around the hood. There is some old worm damage visible to the back of the hood. The movement appears to have been refurbished at some point with modern nylon strings added. There is no winding key present. This has not been tested within the saleroom. This is 254cm high by 55cm wide by 29cm deep. See images.

Gold horse racing trophy for the 1936 Chepstow Summer Cup,a 9ct. gold twin handled cup and cover by Fattorini & Sons Ltd., Birmingham, 1936, on a slender shaped pedestal, laurel decorated base and reserved panel inscribed GOLDEN ROD, CHEPSTOW, AUGUST 3rd 1936, height 19.5cm., weight 241gr., cup somewhat leaning forward, no damage Golden Rod was a chestnut colt by Pick Of The Circus our of Bridle Goose. He was owned by Miss P Davies, trained at Ogbourne by Martin Hartigan and ridden by Gordon Richards. The Champion jockey had been apprenticed to Martin Hartigan's yard and continued to ride for him when available. Golden Rod took advantage of huge weight concessions in the Chepstow Summer Cup receiving 22lb from the runner-up and 20lb from the third to win the mile race by 1 1/2 lengths.
