An 18th century oak and elm cased long case clock, the hood with moulded cornice, glazed door flanked by turned pilasters over an arched trunk door to a flat fronted base on bracket feet, the square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals within applied C scroll and urn spandrels to a matted centre and thirty hour four pillar movement CONDITION REPORTS Hood, trunk and base have evidence of wormholes (but no evidence of activity, as recently treated by furniture restorer), swept moulding to the base of the trunk to the plinth base has some aged knocks with blackened stainings and gouge marks, this also extends down to the left-hand edge of the front panel adjacent to the side panel, there is evidence of a later bracket foot base, movement has a replacement back board.
A collection of six various 19th century dining chairs with upholstered seats, together with an Art Nouveau style mahogany and inlaid bedroom chair with upholstered seat raised on square tapering legs to splayed feet and a 19th century mahogany hall chair, the shaped back with armorial decoration above a panel seat with serpentine front raised on turned and ringed front legs
A 19th Century mahogany and satinwood strung side cabinet, the rectangular reeded edge top over a cockbeaded drawer with ivory escutcheon and a pair of cupboards enclosing shelves on splayed bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Overall appears to be reasonably sound, but has general knocks, bumps and scratches throughout conducive to age, quite a deep scratch running in from the right-hand side on the top approx. 7 cm long, area of beading missing to top edge of drawer approx. 2 cm, above the top of the drawer there are at least two or three areas of veneer missing which have chipped off, the largest being approx. 2 cm x 1 cm, but there are also several other small areas, right-hand main door at the top has an area of damage underneath the metal strip top right corner approx. 3 cm x 2 cm to edge, has clearly been a patch repair in the past to the top edge of door on the corner approx. 10 cm x 2 cm but appears to have been professionally done and is not visible when door is shut, varnish is quite faded in areas and there is scratching throughout above the left-hand door, between the drawer and the door there are two areas of veneer missing altogether approx. 2 cm x 2 cm and 2 cm x 4 cm, left-hand door all along the back edge has split and dried out leaving a gap of approx. 0.5 cm running from the top to the bottom of the decoration (see photos), the other door is also starting to shrink, the inner panel coming away from the outer decoration particularly on the inner edge (similar to the other door, but not quite as bad), there is a split to the bottom apron veneer vertically down approx. 5 cm long, feet show general knocks and bumps. Overall, although appears sound, there are numerous other small knocks, bumps and areas of splitting and varnish missing throughout.
