ALAN BROUGH (1890-1986): an adzed oak cabinet, the twin panelled doors with carved foliate and linen fold detail enclosing two shelves above carved apron on rectangular supports, signed with monogram and dated 1946 to reverse, with further inscription to one panel 'Old Oak from Cheadle Rectory', 131.5 x 80 x 43cm.Provenance; Alan Brough worked as a sculptor in Prestbury and designed the war memorial statue in Park Green, Macclesfield, as well as being exhibited in the Manchester City Art Gallery and The Salford Mining Museum.Additional InformationThis is a handmade piece of furniture so there are manufacturing imperfections, some slightly uneven fittings etc as well as general wear and tear, scuffs and marks.
A 19th century oak settle with panelled back raised on tapering column supports, width 189cm.Additional InformationHeavy wear throughout, the padded seat has been a much later addition. Shows signs of being a much used piece of furniture a few chips to the back moulding, splits to the panel backs, panel backs loose in parts, height 100cm, depth 62cm.
A Modern hardwood pedestal desk with stone panel inlay, six draws and one cupboard, width 165cm. Additional InformationIt does come apart, but is very heavy, there are usual scratches, scuffs, abrasions etc to the top. Some further surface scuffs and scrapes particularly to lower section, some of the stone panels have natural fissures.
An unusual German pen work tambour roll with floral decorated border and central panel depicting six various town views, 35 x 24.5cm, and a similarly decorated 'Rear View Mirror' with small circular mirror inscribed to the reverse 'Wem's Juckt Der Kratze Sich' on turned tapering stem, length 39.5cm (2).

Over painting noticeably top right where the signature is, also on the neck, hands and some small other areas. The paint is thin in parts and has clearly been cleaned. Some light surface marks and 2 small scratches.
Two Russian icons, oil/tempera on panel, the larger depicting Christ and the Resurrection, 34.5 x 26cm (af), the smaller featuring four panels including Madonna and Child, 26.5 x 20.3cm, and a Romanian school devotional painting depicting the appearance of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, with stamped label verso, 36 x 27cm, framed (all af) (3).Provenance: formerly in a French chalet.Additional InformationFirst icon has surface losses in numerous places including to centre section to the lower left of Christ, the smaller with several areas of losses including to the lower left panel upper section. The last item appears to have suffered from heat damage as there is damage to the paint. All are very dirty with heavy wear and tear. The two icons with historic worm throughout the panels and both feature sliding wedges to the reverse. The frame of the third item also has historic worm.
AN ANTIQUE GARNET, DIAMOND AND PEARL BRACELET, 19TH CENTURY in yellow gold, the tapering body with cross shaped clasp, the body pierced and engraved with geometric and foliate motifs, the central panel set with a cushion cut garnet in a border of rose cut diamonds, accented by four split pearls, 21cm, 34.6g.
