JUDAICA: A JEWISH BRASS SABBATH LAMP WIITH RATCHET HOOK (2)Possibly German, 19th Century The brass lamp with six burners, the lamp 35cm, the ratchet hook 29cm unextendedCondition report: Missing a drip pan from the underside of the star-shaped light well; there is a suspension loop. The ratchet mechanism is jammed and currently it is not possible to adjust. The gilt finish is tarnished. Some engraved/incised decoration to the upright and hook. The ratchet could be associated, given the slight difference in metal. The brass lamp with some areas of tarnishing. Later added in fittings to accommodate electrical wiring.
A BURMANTOFTS TURQUOISE BLUE FAIENCE BALUSTER VASE TABLE LAMPEarly 20th Century and Later Adapted The underside incised BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE 1315, 81cm high (including cream silk pleated shade)Condition report: A hairline crack to the collar, see image. Various marks and areas of discolouration from age, wear and use to the glaze. See images. Other superficial marks can probably be cleaned off. The metal attachment to the top where the electrical wiring runs from can be detached, and in our opinion the vase restored to it’s original purpose.
A GILT-METAL MOUNTED WHITE MARBLE BALUSTER TABLE LAMP AND A CHINESE SANG DE BOEUF BALUSTER TABLE LAMP (2)The white marble lamp 20th century, with scrolling griffin head twin handles flanking the body supported by addorsed dolphins, 60cm high (excluding shade) , the Chinese lamp modern, with elongated neck and everted rim, 50cm high (excluding cream shade)Condition Report:Would require re-wiring.Some veining and discolouration in the marble where it occurs naturally. Some small nibbles to the neck of the lamp at the top - see images. Lamp shade with some holes and signs of wear.

Mould-made and shaped as a sandaled left foot, filling-hole surrounded by a ridge in the ankle area, the sandal with two leather straps tied together near the ankle, wick-hole in the big toe; inscription '??????' to the base, heel chipped. With Gorny & Mosch, Auction 194, 14 December 2010, lot 505.This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by search certificate number no.11799-206830. This lamp belongs to a type of plastic lamp made in Anatolia and widespread throughout the Eastern Empire. The sandaled foot was part of the classification of plastic lamps dedicated to the representation of the human body. These lamps were the luxuries of the poor, being brought to temples as votive offerings, however some took their place in the domestic lararia, or were kept by children as playthings.
