Rare T.L.S., Charles Prince Regent of Belgium, one page, folio, Bruxelles, 27th January 1945, to Lieutenant Colonel Gualberto Villarroel, Constitutional President of the Republic of Bolivia, in French. The typed letter entitles `Leopold III, King of the Belgians´, and bears to the heading an embossed purple crown and two lions. Prince Charles signs at the foot of the document in his capacity as Prince Regent of Belgium and adds in his hand `In the name of His Majesty King Leopold III´. The letter refers to the recently appointed President of Bolivia, sending him congratulations and wishing him and his Country prosperity. Countersigned by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Paul-Henri Spaak. Very small holes and tears to the left edge, due to previous filing, not affecting the text or signature. VG £100-150 Leopold III (1901-1983) King of the Belgians 1934-51 when he abdicated in favour of the heir apparent, his son Baudouin.
