A pair of large Blackamoor lamp standards, painted composition. Height to highest point 220 cm. CONDITION REPORT: These lamp standards are manufactured from a cast composite material and later painted. Both lamps are currently lit in the saleroom. They are structurally sound. There do not appear to be any breaks or losses to either figure. There are some surface scratches to the paintwork but no significant problems with either lot.
A pair of 19th century Chinese cloisonne enamel bottle shaped vases, decorated in polychrome with mirrored designs of cranes, foliage and insects, with later lamp inserts. Reputed provenance to Boxer Rebellion. 60 cm to fitting (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Minor pitting throughout, converted, otherwise generally good condition. One vase weighs 6.6 kilograms and the other weighs 6.7 kilograms. The height of the vases is 58 cm. The vases have the usual enamel pitting. One vase has a small bruise with enamel loss and one or two small dented sections of enamel but otherwise is in good condition. The other vase has some pitting also and some minor imperfections with some small areas of minor denting to the enamel and some minor enamel losses.
A Chinese green patinated bronze vase, with flared neck and base and bulbous centre. Height 30 cm, converted to an electric lamp on plinth and drilled, with shade. Height 66 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This vase appears to be at least 19th century and is a good piece but has been drilled to form an electric lamp. The ebonised socle or plinth is worn.
A 20th century ginger jar form electric table lamp decorated in gilt with flowers and repeating borders against a mottled cobalt blue ground, with turned wooden base and electrical fittings with shade. 37 cm to fitting. CONDITION REPORT: The ginger jars cover has been stuck down, the gilt decoration is worn in patches, the wooden base has a split and depletion, but otherwise appears to be in generally good condition. Would recommend re-wiring.
A 19th century Chinese bronze vase, of baluster form, with open base, converted to a table lamp, with shade. 37.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Some marks and scratches. Some minor pitting etc., otherwise generally good condition. The vase has some marks and scratches. There is some minor pitting to the surface and some imperfections mainly to the area below the upper rim where there is a small linear hole.
A pair of brass candlesticks, with plain cylindrical sconces and stems on circular bases, later fitted with plug in electric fitments to form electric table lamps, with shades, 54 cm high, a 1920's mahogany electric table lamp, 38 cm high, and an alabaster lamp with shade, 54 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The candlesticks have scuffing and wear to highlights and the electric element is just a plug in into the sconces. The mahogany lamp is in good order but lacks a shade, whilst the other lamp has minor chipping.
A white glazed porcelain pineapple shaped electric table lamp, on gilt base and with shade. 10 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: This lamp is relatively modern and in good overall condition. The height should read 80 cm including the shade. The height to the top of the ceramic section is 48 cm. This includes the wooden base.
