A Chinese bronze double lamp, Spring & Autumn period (771 - 476 BCE), the top with three zoomorphic legs on a stepped body with a side loop to the rim, the base with similar banded body with two opposing loops attached to the side, on circular foot, each interior with a central spike, 10cm diameter, 8.8cm highCondition report: The cover most likely had a second side loop with is now missing. Lots of verdigris and earth still attached. No signs of any obvious cracks, repairs or restorations. All early metalwares in this sale were part of a private collection formed over thirty years.

An Aesthetic Movement French faience and gilt bronze mounted table lamp, last quarter 19th century, by Joseph-Theodore Deck, last quarter 19th century, in Orientaliste taste and in typical Persian Blue colour, with THD monogram to the body, the base of the mount inscribed GAGNEAU 115 RUE LAFAYETTE / CI DEVANT R.D'ENGIEN / 12842, 49cm high overall including fitment There was clearly a relationship between Deck and the firm of Gagneau, many examples of Deck pieces with mounts by Gagneau have appeared at auction including a pair of lamps which sold at Christies New York, 17 October 2017 achieving a hammer price of £6000Condition Report: The metal areas with wear and discolouration, probably gilded overall this has largely worn off the top mount. The electrical fitting more recent, Dreweatts cannot guarantee the electrical elements and working, these need to be tested by a qualified electrician prior to use in a domestic setting.
