A Victorian brass oil lamp, with clear glass reservoir and raised on a black slate base. CONDITION REPORT: The height to the top of the burner is 54 cm. All of the brasswork is in good condition with no issues. The reservoir is not cracked but does have the usual very small nibbles and chips to the proud sections of the cutting. These are not significant in our opinion. The only real problem with the lamp is that one corner of the slate base has a significant chip. There are also numerous small nibbles around all of the sharp edges on the base.
A hanging saloon lantern, milk glass with metal upper section and hanger. Width 30 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is a late 19th/early 20th century saloon lantern. It has a Registered No. 742851. The metalwork is generally dirty and there have been some old soldered repairs to the clamping mechanism that holds the milk glass shade in place. We have not removed the shade. The visible parts of the glasswork are in generally good condition with no visible damage. The paintwork to the lantern itself is badly faded. The metalwork appears to be all complete. The lamp is currently hanging in the saleroom. The piece will need to be completely rewired if it is to be used.
An Art Deco amber Bakelite and copper table lamp, with pink glass shade. Height 47 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lamp is in generally good order. The shade does not appear to have any damage. We have however not removed it from the cup support. The metalware and the Bakelite are all in good order. The lamp looks to have been recently rewired with a modern light fitting. The light does work.
A pair of Victorian Corinthian column oil lamp bases, converted to electricity. Height excluding light fitting 48 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both lamps are currently plugged in and lit. The wiring is modern. The brasswork is in generally good condition. The square stepped base on both lamps is tarnished and dirty and requires a good polish. The fluted columns are both in generally good order with minor surface scuffs and scratches to the black paintwork. Both capitals are in good order. The lamps may not be Victorian and are possibly early 20th century. They may be American. Both have matching shades which are green, of the correct size and in generally good condition.
