MARKLIN O GAUGE 1930s 4-4-0 LOCOMOTIVE & TENDER. A fine electric powered locomotive, E66/12920, with a matching 6 wheel tender. The Marklin firm always paid much attention to details as in this case transforming into toy form from real life the typical engine often seen on the rails during this time period. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus original condition. Lacking one small wheel on front truck & center head lamp. Couple of drops of brown paint on left side of engine boiler. 1-14269

Highlights include several WWI era blown and handpainted Santas, clip-style German lamp post, Mercury glass horn, celluloid and spun cotton Santa plus various fruits, vegetables, clowns and more. NONE SUCH"" MINCEMEAT LANTERN. Scarce, early 4-sided lantern with Halloween and patriotic themed polychrome reverse printed glass panels. The painted green tin lid is punched out with a moon and stars pattern and has a ring for hanging. An interior tin turbine mechanism is driven by the heat of a candle or lamp oil which would illuminate the side graphics and turn to produce rotating patterns on the ceiling through the top cut-outs. Side panels are captioned ""None Such Condensed Soup"", ""Our flag is First-Our Goods the Best"", ""None Such New England Mincemeat Like Mother Used to Make"", and ""None Such Prepared Pumpkin Condensed in Two Pie Packages"". The ""None Such"" brand was developed by Lewis Merrell and Oscar Soule who formed the ""Merrell-Soule Company"" in Syracuse, NY for the purpose of canning vegetables. They introduced the ""None Such"" mincemeat brand just before 1900 which also helps date this lantern that is stamped on the bottom ""Pat. August 31, 1897"". SIZE: 7"" l x 7"" w x 17"" h. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with some light paint loss to tin red body and green top, but one of the nicest examples cataloger has seen. 1-14201
