Follower of John Constable RA, British 1776-1837- Figures by a pond with a cottage in a wooded landscape; oil on canvas, 35.2x43.5cm., (unframed) CONDITION REPORT: canvas has been re-lined circa early-mid 20th century on a replacement wooden stretcher with single vertical cross brace member under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of retouching and restorations throughout the paint surface some of this restoration is of relatively recent date and others from an earlier point in time with craquelure throughout the paint surface there is much in-filling to the existing craquelure overall in good restored condition
