A STANDARD LAMP Designed by Flute Inc; Chicago, the base is of corrugated paper, signed by the artist. Provenance: Flute Inc; was a Chicago based company owned by Charlotte & Jerry Garfinkle. In the early 90's the dup had a design plant in Ireland to supply Europe. Their vases & lamps, pedestals & urns were all made from corrugated paper, so one hand is all that's needed to lift them.

An exceptionally fine tall Victorian overlaid and etched crimson glass Oil Lamp, attractively decorated in gilt and with panels of hand painted flowers and large oval painted panel of young girl at a window, with crimson glass bowl and ormolu mounts and matching red glass shade, 84cms (33") high. A fine and unusual 19th Century ormolu and marble Standard Lamp, the tapering square marble body surmounted by a single putti holding a cornucopia vase with six lights issuing, the pillar with mounted ormolu decoration in the Adams style including oval portrait medallion etc., on a heavy square ormolu and marble base with large paw feet, 203cms (7') high.
