Central globular section column over cylindrical pillar raised on square base over flat bun feet. Cast B&H makers mark to underside. Measures approx; 50cm x 30cm.

A 19th century Nepalese ritual butter lamp – Sukunda. Cast and chiselled bronze of baluster form and repousse ribs to emulate lotus petals. The handle is cast in the form of a dragon and the lamp dish as a leaf. Together with a chained rope twist long spoon. Sukunda lamps are indigenous to the Newar people of the Kathmandu Valley. They are used for a wide range of religious and social purposes. Approximately 14cm tall.
