A large Indian lacquered papier-mâché lamp base 20th century, of ovoid form on a short circular base, decorated all over with a continuous hunting scene of deer, tigers, hounds and other creatures including a camel, bear, man with hounds and five-headed beast amidst green and blue trees against a mountainous ground, the domed neck with geese in flight against a dark red and gilt diaper ground, 21in. A good Edwardian rosewood and marquetry bonheur de jour the top with gilt brass gallery and floral and foliate scrollwork and pendant lamp marquetry, over a convex front and hinged flap which opens when the single front drawer is opened, the interior with gilt tooled leather writing surface, two drawers and pigeonholes, both drawers with floral and foliate scrollwork, ribbons and swags, the convex front centred by an oval patera, the fall centred by a quiver, shield and sword, the drawer with husk and ribbon swags, raised on strung square tapered supports with spade feet, 30 x 20in.
