A late 19th century Alfred Stellmacher Turn Teplitz porcelain oil lamp in the form of an Indian elephant, with gilded decoration, blush ivory ground surmounted on oval plinth, later converted for electricity (36cm to include fitting). Condition Report: Overall condition good. No tusks (don't think, there ever were). Crack to inner base. Gilding slightly rubbed. No major damage.
An undated archaistic bronze oil lamp with wide conical base, raised collar to the spout, volute scrolls to the nozzle, sitting owl at the handle. 169 grams, 92mm (3 3/4"). Property of a London, UK collector; acquired London market, 1990s. The owl was the companion of the goddess Minerva (Greek Athena), the virgin goddess of wisdom. Because of such association, the bird has been used as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

A hollow-formed bronze lamp in the form of a ram with its legs folded beneath the body, raised head with billeted horns, raised panels to the shoulders, hips and rump; hinged lid to the back forming the plate for the wick and oil. 488 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Property of a North West London gentleman; formerly with a central London gallery in 1990. Fine condition.
