Property of a London, UK collector; acquired London market, 1990s. The owl was the companion of the goddess Minerva (Greek Athena), the virgin goddess of wisdom. Because of such association, the bird has been used as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
