A bronze tripartite oil lamp in ancient Pompeiian style, almost certainly Neapolitan and cast by the Chiurazzi Foundry, circa 1900, the three spouts each with a pierced bead for (missing) hanging chains, issuing from a central oblate sphere, cast to three sides with masks linked by beribboned laurel swags, around a domed lid, 11cm high, 28cm wideAncient Roman oil lamps of this type were designed to be either hung, or placed on a surface. The ancient example upon which this is based was probably excavated at Pompeii and appears as N.195 in the J. Chiurazzi & Fils castings catalogue for 1900
