MPH Models - #1176 - A boxed 1:43 scale resin model of the Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage 1960 Le Mans car as driven by Masten Gregory and Chuck Daigh. This completely stunning car has had 229 detail changes made to the original model to bring it up to Tim Dykes standard. These include; no. 31 spot lamp nacelles re shaped and deepened, no. 86 pullring chain for radiator blind incorporated into dash, no. 153 Meri 1mm lenses fitted to race number lamps on both front wings and so the list goes on. The car appears Mint in a plain white box with a detailed history of the model, a list of the improvements, an etched plaque and a signed card to show that this is number 6 of the 25 car series made in July 1998. One ashtray of cube form and the other a lower dish with all having decorative incised geometric bands and motifs throughout. All bearing makers marks to the bases and numbered. Wear commensurate with age throughout all pieces with the cube ashtray sustaining some chips, overall good. Lamp measures approx; 18cm x 9cm x 6cm.
