Agatha Walker, two figures of Florence Nightingale and of Anne Boleyn, modelled in wax over plaster, titled, dated 1929 and 1932 and monogrammed, each 29.5cm high, each in a glass case. Edith Evans (1888-1976) appeared as Florence Nightingale in a new play The Lady with a Lamp by Reginald Berkeley. It opened at London’s Arts Theatre on 5th January 1929 and after ten performances transferred to the Garrick Theatre on 24th January, where it stayed until the middle of June, achieving a run of 164 performances.
