An unusual WWII Second World War era plug-in head torch - believed to be either from a tank or aircraft, likely to wireless operator assistance, but also for SOE usage. The torch comprising a sprung metal head band, with adjustable lamp to front and plugs to rear. Unusual piece of equipment.
Two antique hand held British Railway signal oil lamps to include; BR ( W ) British Railways lamp having round bevelled rotating glass windows to the front and carry handle to the top and back with embossed BR(W) to the side and a brake lamp having a squared form, clear round lenses to sides, red circular lens to the front with carry handle atop. Original autograph letter in pencil, signed and dated 6 March 1899, on headed paper (10, South Street, Park Lane. W.), 'To the Aylesbury Dairy Co. Would you be so very good as to send me at once 6 eggs, if possible, laid this morning (or less than 6 if laid this morning) with the dark brown shells, for a gentleman very ill indeed, who fancies them - and to supply me with the same every morning for the gentleman who likes your eggs, & takes hardly anything. I will send them to him at once. Yours faithfully, Florence Nightingale. I shall be so much obliged to you.'
