David J Pennicuick, British Provincial School, 19th century- Portrait of Robert Burns standing full-length in a landscape with a dog by a gate; oil on canvas, bears inscribed label attached to the reverse of the frame, 61x51cm CONDITION REPORT: Gilt composition frame has been over painted with gold coloured paint There is evidence of old damages and repairs to the frame Canvas has not been re-lined Wooden stretcher appears to be the original Canvas is much browned and stained on he reverse The paint surface is subject to bar marks and is loose on the stretcher The left-hand side of the canvas shows evidence of much over painting and restoration There are small brown spots on the paint surface throughout The paint surface has been re-varnished in recent years Under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of over painting along the top edge, the upper left hand side and the lower left section of the subject's coat Overall in fair to good condition

After Jean-Louis André Théodore Géricault, French 1791-1824- "Spanish Horses"; oil on canvas, 46.5x58cm., (unframed) CONDITION REPORT: Has been relined On a replacement wooden stretcher Under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of a great deal of overpainting and restorations There older and more recent layers of this restoration and overpainting The head of the horse and two areas above the back of the horse are more recently retouched Other areas of retouching are throughout the paint surface The paint surface has been re-varnished Otherwise in fair to good condition

Early/Mid 20th century- Canal Scene, possibly Venice; oil on canvas, bears label for with J J Patrickson & Son Ltd, 247-249 Fulham Road, SW3 on the reverse of the frame, 41x31cm CONDITION REPORT: A canal scene, possibly in Venice In a parcel gilt moulding frame, circa mid-late 20th century Has been papered over on the reverse Canvas appears to be quite thick so may be re-lined Pronounced vertical crease visible from top centre downwards approx 25cm long Under inspection with uv lamp there so not appear to be any areas of restoration or retouching Overall in good condition
