A Victorian oil lamp, the cut glass fount and brass burner mounted on a Corinthian candlestick with spiralling embossed foliage to the shaft and leafage around the gadrooned square foot, 61cm h, by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. In overall very good condition with slight wear on the highlights now showing nickel, the glass original and undamaged, the burner also original and with some faults. Not adapted for electricity.
A similar Victorian oil lamp, with fluted shaft and stepped foot, 55cm h, by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. In fine overall condition with very slight wear on the angles, the plated parts now showing nickel. The cut glass fount original and undamaged, the brass burner probably original. No converted for electricity.
A Sampson Hancock floral encrusted roman lamp violeteer and cover, in colours and gilt, 11cm h, painted crown, crossed swords, SH, D and crossed parallel lines of Harry Sampson Hancock in red, c1900. In unusually fine condition with little if any of the typical damage to be found on floral encrusted wares, no damage to the other parts of the vessel, the gilding also in fine condition. An Ormolu Mounted French Porcelain Bottle Vase, as a lamp, with fleur de lys pierced cusped mount to the rim, acanthus scroll side appliques with maiden head mounts, enclosing a vase with sky blue ground painted with fishing and military trophies within scrolled reserves above swags of flowers in colours and gilt, upon a circular moulded foot with scroll feet, {61cm high}
A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Stem Cup, mark and period of Qianlong, in the form of a Tibetan butter-lamp, internally with a stylised eight-limbed snowflake medallion, the exterior with a continuous frieze of Tibetan lanca characters within lotus scroll panels, on a swept circular stem with encircling jewelled tassels beneath a band of lappets and thunder pattern, the underglaze blue mark in a continuous line on the inside of the foot, {8.5cm high} (two chips on rim, repaired crack in rim)
