Two carved Chinese root wood carved figural lamp bases, 14" and 15" high respectively; together with a carved Chinese figure of a man and a hardwood figure of a boy with two elephants (4)-** Provenance - From the Estate of Mr Roy Moodie by descent, who had a fascinating and successful banking career with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in the 1950s. It was this time spent in the far east that encouraged his love and lifelong interest in Chinese artifacts, especially blue and white porcelain, jade and furniture
A BRONZE AND ORMOLU TABLE LIGHT of candelabra form with cut glass lustre drops, the body with Bacchus masks and swags, 59cm high, together with another table lamp hugn with cut glass lustre drops and with malachite chip and enamel base, 35cm high (2) Condition Report: Main light - one of the glass candle pillars is broken at the top. missing some lustre drops and chips to some others. One arm is a bit loose. a small hole in the metal base - please see images. Malachite light - . No issues. Both are tarnished to the gilt and will need re-wiring.

Ruskin (John, art critic and social critic, 1819-1900).- Albumen print photograph of Filippino Lippi's Madonna and Child signed by Ruskin below image, light fading to image, faint blind-stamp of Ruskin lamp to lower corner of image, light creasing to mount, c.280 x 225mm., c.1875.⁂ An interesting piece of Ruskin ephemera - the present example is very similar in subject, mount and used of blind-stamp to those held at the Ahmoleon that were donated by Ruskin to the Ruskin Drawing School in 1875 for use as teaching aids. It seems likely therefore that the present example was gifted by Ruskin from his personal collection.

An unusual 19th century Chinese famille rose baluster vase, with later lamp conversion, drilled, polychrome painted with auspicious symbols on a green simulated-shagreen ground above a lower border of stylised lappets, with twin double-kylin handles and applied bixies to the shoulders, with frilled turnover rim, 17¼in. (43.8cm.) high, rim broken and repaired.
A pair of Victorian brass & copper Barrett & Sons reading lamp candles / student lamps, each having ornate pierced hood with copper reflector, plain column with applied shaped Barrett & Sons retail plaques, raised on square stepped base, the undersides of base stamped "A Barrett & Sons reading lamp candles should always be used 5/6 per box of 3lb", 14in.
