London & North Eastern Railway glass Lamp Tablet, FLAMBOROUGH. Ex NER station ,opened on 20 October 1847 by the York and North Midland Railway and called Marton. However, there were several other railway stations also called Marton, so on 1 July 1884 the North Eastern Railway renamed it after the village of Flamborough several miles away. It closed on 5 January 1970. Excellent condition.

LMS fixed distant Signal Lamp complete with reservoir and burner. The lamp casing bears an LMS Railway brass plate.

Lot 44

Taff Vale Railway Coal Hammer, marked twice with company initials and twice with the word 'Loco'. Ex Cardiff Canton Steam Crane. Undoubtedly used to break up large pieces of coal. Together with a British Railways black Tail Lamp, still in ex stores wrapper and totally pristine with the exception of a little rust on the handle caused by that part being exposed through the wrapping paper.

London & North Eastern Railway glass Lamp Tablet, EASTRINGTON. Ex NER station, opened in 1840, between Selby and Hull. At one time, this very small village boasted two stations, the second being to the north of the village on the Hull & Barnsley Railway which opened in 1885. Excellent condition.

London & North Eastern Railway glass Lamp Tablet, HEDON. Ex NER station between Hull and Withernsea, opened by the York and North Midland Railway on 24 August 1888. The station only operated on race days but closed in 1909 when horse racing ceased. It was re-opened as Hedon Halt between 14 August 1948 and 23 October 1948 to serve speedway meetings. Good condition.
