Red text reads Gesundheit - Schonheit - Lebensfreude - durch die Hohensonne Original Hanau / Health - Beauty - Joie de vivre - through the Hohensonne Original Hanau. The Hohensonne was produced by Heraeus Noblelight, Germany’s leading manufacturer of medical phototherapy lights at the time. It was so successful - in part thanks to Hohlwein’s advertising posters - that the brand name ‘Hohensonne’ was used generically to describe tanning lamps in German.
