An elegant wooden hulled model of a single screw Steamer named `Mario`, 45`` long with a beam of 8 1/2`` approx., the hull of good hydrodynamic shape constructed from shaped wooden sections joined by metal fillets, the cast Brass three-bladed propeller 3 3/8`` diameter driven by a vertically mounted double-acting single cylinder steam engine with a bore and stroke of approx. 1``, the cylinder insulated with brass banded barrel-like cladding. Forward is mounted a paraffin fired blow-lamp like burner but the boiler, which was formerly mounted midships is absent. The superstructure includes a wheel-house with hinged doors situated forward of the red, white and black banded metal funnel. The model was, it appears, a free-sailing model having a Brass rudder with a friction-lockable adjustment for heading. Total weight is 9.73 kgms. approx.
