A VICTORIAN NOVELTY SILVER 'RAILWAY SIGNAL LAMP' COMBINED VINAIGRETTE / SEWING COMPENDIUM, SAMPSON MORDAN & CO., LONDON, 1875 realistically modelled as a signal lamp, the front, simulating a door with clasp, set with a glass cabochon over (distressed) red foil, to the back with two hinged loop handles centred by a clip, decorated all over with scroll foliage inhabited by birds, the conical top with suspension ring hinging open to reveal a gilt gallery of pins surrounding a metal thimble over a lift-out rod comprising two cotton reels and tape measure, the base engraved with a crest and motto, probably for Hall of Durham and Oxon., hinging open to a gilt interior with P.O.D.R. lozenge for 1873 and a detachable vinaigrette grille inscribed 'S. MORDAN & CO. LONDON', 6.5cm high

MOORCROFT POTTERY THREE 'POMEGRANATE' PATTERN PIECES AND A LARGE FLAMBÉ 'LEAF AND BERRY' PATTERN LAMP; CIRCA 1925 Glazed and tube-lined ceramic. Comprising; a pair of small pomegranate vases, a footed pomegranate bowl, and a tall leaf and berry vase - now fitted as a lamp. Pomegranate pieces with impressed factory marks and painted green signatures. Leaf and berry vase/lamp with makers marks obscured. Vases; 19.5cm high Bowl; 26.5cm diameter Lamp; 52cm high (inc. brass fitments) Provenance: The Estate of a deceased Gentleman Condition Report: Mostly in good condition with no detected damages or restoration. There is crazing to the glaze on each. The footed bowl with some larger random surface scratches to the underside of the exterior shoulder, multiple light scratched patches to the interior well (in line with use and age) and a tiny pinpoint glaze loss at the foot rim. Signed in cast 'M Le Verrier' with impressed roundel stamp mark 'LE VERRIER PARIS' 43.5cm high Condition Report: Pillar is loose on base, stable, but needs some restoration/attention. There is a 1 x 1.5cm shallow chip at the foot of the pillar. Some light scratches to the surface, two deeper scratches at the nape and collar bone.
