A Benson style copper, brass and iron oil lamp base, 42 cm high Condition report Report by GH Patination to copper and brass commensurate with age. One replacement screw to the lower central attachment on the column, and the lamp is lacking anything above the oil well, so this is just the base. Occasional minor dents.
19th CENTURY SILVER PLATED DOUBLE BURNER OIL LAMP having thumb cut crystal glass reservoir on a fluted, Corinthian column pedestal with square stepped base, having engraved acanthus leaf corners. Marked: Hamilton and Son Ltd., Edinburgh, together with etched glass, globular shade and clear chimney. The lamp 22.5" high (58cm). CONDITION REPORT: Wear to plating commensurate with age, no obvious damage or losses. The reservoir is loose, there is a drill hole to the base suggesting it may at one time have been converted to electricity.
