A pair of French green serpentine marble and gilt metal mounted table lamps in Louis XVI style, early 20th century, the fitments rising from swagged urn form bodies applied with twin rams' masks, above waisted and foliate cast socles descending to circular bases inset with beading and foliate panels, raised on toupie feet, 58cm high to top of fitment, 77cm high including shadeCondition Report: The lamps bear the usual very minor marks, knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use.The mount encircling one of the socles is loose, and has partially detached. This will require attention. Each lamp bears one or two shallow surface indentations to the marble, and one narrow line appears to have been filled. This lamp also has a narrow crack to one of the gilt mounts, probably from casting and overall stable. The other has a similar fissure to the band of guilloches encircling the top. The present mounts supporting the electrical fitments may be associated. The lamps are offered as decorative items, please have checked by a certified electrician prior to use.Condition Report Disclaimer
A substantial French patinated and parcel gilt bronze figural floor lamp, circa 1900, modelled as an amorino holding aloft a torch terminating in a fruiting and foliate cast light basket, on a rouge griotte marble base, 151cm high; presented on a later green painted and gilded stand, 42cm highCondition Report: Marks, knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use.The patination is slightly variegated between dark brown (near black) and more chocolate brown areas. The basket light fitment has been completely re-gilt, and there is some radial movement between the lights and the basket itself. There are joins visible between sections of the drapery, and not all are perfectly aligned, so there is a little gap between the drape on the shoulder. There is a little scuffed area to the front of the hair, possibly a shallow dent. Two or three short sections of grey filler to marble base, though this is barely visible in the naturally variegated stone. The associated plinth is a little marked and scuffed, and has two horizontal splits to the top though it is overall completely stable. Please have the item teste by a certified electrician prior to use.
