An unusual cigarette holder and ashtray in the form of a table lamp, a matchbox case, and a novelty ceramic ashtray advertising Guinness identification number GA/A/58A issued by Arthur Guinness & Son Co. designed by Ashstead Pottery Ltd, BCM/ASHTD marked to the base, a ceramic advertising piece in the form of a petrol can displaying Rolls Royce 1906 (4)
A Victorian gilt brass and pale green glass and gilt decorated table lamp in the Gothic Revival taste, the original candle holder with "Palmer & Co. Patent" telescopic action, raised on a cast tripod base, decorated with harpists (converted for electricity), 69 cm high overall CONDITION REPORTS Brass has pitting and discolouration throughout. The column has various firing flaws and white marks all over and a small internal crack. Gilding is rubbed. Surface scratches. Some brown dripped residue to the base and discolouration , pitting etc. Green verdigris coming through. General dirty. Knocks, wear. Base appears to have had some repairs on the inside. Telescopic mechanism goes up and down but does stop (ie is loose). Wire has been cropped.
A Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts copper wall light or table lamp designed by Arthur Stansfield Dixon, the tapering scrollwork support on a domed plate pierced for wall mounting, hinged and supporting a hammered copper shade with brass cap, approx 55 cm high CONDITION REPORTS For further information see ALAN CRAWFORD "By Hammer and Hand" Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Page 99, Plate 77 and Page 101, Plate 80 for a contemporary illustration of a display of similar lamps by The Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts - also see Christie's South Kensington Classic Arts and Crafts Sale 2nd November 2000 Lot 173 for an identical piece and Woolley & Wallis Lot 533 3rd December 2014. Condition: There is some sticky residue from stickers, there are a couple of dents to the outer rim, slightly mis-shapen. The bulb holder appears to be a replacement. The ferule beneath the holder does not fit flush with the ball pivot. There is a blob of glue or solder and a small hole on the side of the stand. General wear and tear to include wear to the copper especially on its base, some surface scratches. See images for details.
A carved wood and gesso and painted standard lamp in the form of a blackamoor in Arabesque robes, with floral decoration, standing on a marble effect base, raised on a square section columnar stand, 207 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Various cracks throughout, including to top right. Fingers to left hand - little finger missing, next two broken and reglued. Large crack across his torso and down side. Various losses, cracks, chips, etc throughout, and especially to his tunic. Cracks to legs. Plinth with various cracks, chips and losses. Various substantial signs of wear and tear throughout.
Harvey Guzzini 1960s / 1970s design standard lamp, with chromed four stemmed column and opaque white shade bearing iGuzzini label, with original footswitch. 165cm high Condition report: The shade has a dent to one side with related losses. There are minor scuffs to the shade. The metalwork has some tarnishing to the surface, there is a small impression to the base.
