A Chinese pottery model of an elephant and its rider, 27 cm high, a Chinese plate and a Chinese jar and cover, all with damages (3) Condition report Report by NG Blue glaze elephant: figure missing left hand, part of right and part of item which he is holding. Moulding crude. Some firing production faults to feet of elephant and split in clay. Glaze is rubbed to tip of elephant's ear but no visible repairs. Plate, 29.5 cm wide, a couple of chips to rim, one of which affects border to front of plate. Rubbing to edge, black marks and other faults to glaze. Later surface scratching Ginger jar and cover, 16 cm high: cover has been broken into approx. seven pieces and glued. There are some slivers of porcelain missing. Jar is cracked through base foot ring and into the body, it runs quite a long way around.
