A Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Armorial Mug, circa 1760, the C shape handle with fungus head moulding, frontally painted with a butterfly about to alight on a peony amongst rocks, with an armorial shield to one side, and a horned animal head erased crest to the other, 11cm high. Depicting the arms of William Raper and Ruth Grosvenor. The pedigree in the College of Arms records the marriage between Ruth Grosvenor and William Raper of Wendover Dean Co Buckingham Esq son of Matthew Raper, also of Wendover Dean and of Thorley Hall, Co Hertford; the latter died at Thorley Hall in 1748 and was one of the petitioners for grant. The mug is accompanied by a letter from the College of Arms dated 26th November 2008 and signed by the Windsor Herald.

* An important 18th century Chinese export porcelain armorial dinner service, possibly decorated with the arms for the Collier family, Ch'ien Lung, 1755, the arms are quarterly argent and gules in the first and fourth quarters a cross patonce and in the second and third a tower counterchanged; crest is out of a tower argent a demi lion rampant sable, motto 'Nemo, Sine cruuse' (no one without cross); comprising tureen and cover with fruit finial and hares head handles, two large canted meat plates, one small meat plate, a sauce boat and fifteen bowls. The service was sold in a sale in the late 19th century by order of Mr Justice North in the matter of the estates of Charles Edmund Baron Ellenborough, deceased, Ellenborough v. Woodroofe.
