A PAIR OF RARE BLUE-AND-WHITE "EIGHT IMMORTALS" BOWLS, GUANGXU MARK AND PERIOD. H: 5 cm, D: 10.8 cm. Each bowl is of inverted bell form and is finely decorated with the Eight Daoist Immortals with their attributes, standing upon cresting waves from which issues a vapour that separates the figures. Apart from possessing the abilities to destroy evil or bestow life, the legendary deities are also revered as Daoist figures and have been associated with popular secular Chinese culture. The Eight Immortals, led by their leader, Lu Dongbin, consists of other members including He Xiangu, Lan Caihe, Zhang Guolao, Han Xiangzi, Zhongli Quan, Li Tieguai and Cao Guojiu. Literature: A similar example from the Kwan collection, slightly larger, Daoguang marks of the period (1820-1850), is illustrated in Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing, Chinese University of Hong Kong (1983)-page 51, cat. no. 17. Provenance: English private collection. Condition Report: There is a sign of repair below the rim in one of the bowls.
A FINE CORAL-GROUND REVERSE-DECORATED 'LOTUS' BOWL, DAOGUANG MARK AND PERIOD. H: 6.4 cm, D: 12.8 cm. The exterior is decorated with foliate scrolls issuing four peony blossoms alternating with stylized lotus flowers above fully-opened lotus flowers revealing the seed pod, all reversed in white on a coral red ground stopping neatly at the foot and rim. The interior is left plain. Literature: A similar example from the Percival David Foundation, illustrated by M. Medley, Illustrated Catalogue of Porcelains Decorated in Underglaze-blue and Copper-red, London, 1963, pl. 64. Another example from the Kwan collection is illustrated in Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing, Chinese University of Hong Kong (1983)-page 83, cat. no. 69. Provenance: English private collection.

IMPORTANT SET OF 4 ANTIQUE CHINESE PANELS IMPORTANT SET OF 4 ANTIQUE CHINESE PANELS Each panel contains 4 hand painted plaques. Total of 16 plaques all depicting various birds. Top plaques are a quarter section of a sphere and are thus framed. 2nd section contains 12"" oval porcelain plaques. 3rd section are 6-sided 6"" plaques. Last section 4x 13"" long rectangular plaques. Total length with wood mount 61"" tall (154.94cm) x 13-1/2"" wide (34.29cm). Beautiful finish to the wood, both front and back. Plaques appear to be turn of the century, in newer wood mounts.

Each with figural handles depicting court hands standing on lingzhi fungus. Figural foo lion finials. Raised lotus blossom sprouts throughout with vines. Circa Jiaqing period, 1810`s. Each measures approx. 14 1/2"" height. Publications: The Magazine `Antiques` January 1978 page 89. The Book of Pottery and Porcelain by Warren E. Cox depicts a similar vase exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, page 65.

Bottom holds impressed calligraphy marks and `MADE IN CHINA`. Circa Republic period or later, 20th century. Measures 19 5/8"" height (49.8cm). Total weight of 2488 grams.

A Chinese blue and white porcelain jar bearing four character marks to base, a small Chinese porcelain baluster shaped vase and cover bearing four character marks to base, a Chinese porcelain ginger jar and cover, various 19th Century and later glasses, together with a box containing a collection of china wares etc to include various 19th Century and later decorative cups, and saucers, to include Derby CONDITION REPORTS Chinese porcelain jar : nibbles to rim, various firing faults, surface scratches, etc. Vase and cover : significant damage to the rim and lid, general firing faults, surface scratches, etc. Ginger jar and cover : cover has a 2 cm split from the edge of the rim upwards, otherwise with general firing faults and surface scratches. All glasses have nibbles/chips to foot or rim. Box of 19th century cups and saucers are all in worn and stained condition, with cracks, scratches, etc. Advise viewing this Lot in person.
A late 19th / early 20th Century Chinese porcelain blue and white bottle shaped jar and cover, together with a box containing a collection of pearl ware leaf moulded plates, various other decorative plates, a modern Chinese porcelain vase and two Sindy dolls CONDITION REPORTS Blue and white jar and cover : cover is very damaged, with numerous chips to the edge, top finial has been broken off and sellotaped back on, there is an old staple repair to the neck of the jar running down approx. 5 cm and then across by approx. 5 cm and back up again. All leaf plates are very crazed and stained, one of the leaf plates has a chip to the edge approx. 1 cm. All other plates are in used condition with some surface rubbing, scratching and staining throughout, as is similar with the yellow and blue vase. Two dolls in very used condition.

Chinese pottery bottle shaped vase has some small chips and various firing faults. Pottery jug has chips to the moulded faces of the figures and various chips and knocks all over. Studio pottery bowl has water marks inside, various scratches to the glaze and firing faults. Ciro toilet jug has significant damage and old repairs. Tulip ornaments : one is smashed in half, another with top broken off. Glass etched bottle has various firing faults and a couple of nibbles to the edge of the bottle. All items in worn state, with dirt conducive with age and use. Size of jardinier approx. 36 cm diameter. Size of ginger jar approx. 15 cm diameter at the opening , 29 cm high
