A GOOD QUALITY CHINESE CLAIRE-DE-LUNE MOULDED PORCELAIN BRUSHPOT, together with a fitted wood stand, the sides decorated and moulded underneath the glaze with a continuous scene of sages, waves and rockwork, the base with a moulded Qianlong seal mark, 7.6in high overall on stand, the brushpot itself 5.6in diameter at base & 5.2in high.
A 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CLAIRE-DE-LUNE PORCELAIN BRUSHWASHER, of octagonal form, the rounded sides applied with a translucent glaze, the base with a six-character Yongzheng mark in underglaze-blue, 10.2in(26cm) wide at widest point & 2.4in(6.1cm) high. Bought in Rangoon 1928 from a Tuchan War Lord's collection.
AN UNUSUAL CHINESE GILDED & ENAMELLED PORCELAIN HU VASE, 18th Century or later, imitating bronze and champleve, the neck with double phoenix head handles, the sides decorated in relief with barbed quatrefoil dragon panels reserved on a linked wan swastika ground, the decoration as a whole reserved on a blue enamelled ground, the base with a moulded Qianlong seal mark, 8.2in(20.7cm) wide at widest point & 9.2in(23.4cm) high. Bought in Rangoon 1930.
A CHINESE WANLI PERIOD BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN KETTLE, circa 1600, together with a later blue and white cover, the kettle with an overhead handle, the fluted sides painted with alternating figural and floral panels, 6.3in(16.2cm) long & 8.1in(20.5cm) high. Bought in Maidenhead 1940. The old paper label on the base claims that this kettle once belonged to Mary Queen of Scots.
A LARGE CHINESE JIAJING MARK & PERIOD BLUE & WHITE OCTAGONAL PORCELAIN BOX & COVER, the cover painted with a pheasant perched on rockwork beneath an overhanging branch and birds in flight, within bird and foliate cartouches and alternating peach and lingzhi to the rim, the base with a six-character Jiajing mark, 11.8in(30.1cm) wide & 6in(15.2cm) high. Bought Church Street, Kensington, London November 1951 (formerly in the collection of Gedney Beatty).
