A 19th century Chinese porcelain lidded jar, decorated with lotus leaves, vases of flowers and tables and with two circle marks to base. Height 31 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The lid has a small firing mark to the underside bottom edge of the unglazed lip which extends for approximately 1 cm. There is also one very small outer edge chip of no great significance. The jar itself is in very good condition with no issues of any description.

A late 18th/early 19th century Chinese porcelain octagonal dish, blue and white with light brown border. Length 38 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The dish is in generally very good order with no hairline cracks, there are however two chips to the underside rim, the largest being approximately 5 mm x 3 mm, the dish still has a good ring.

The other bowl has a hairline crack to the base which is barely visible to the naked eye. The green bowl has a number of chips to the rim, there are also two hairline cracks. The largest bowl has a number of chips to the rim and also 3-4 hairline cracks, the largest being approximately 10 cm.

A CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN ARMORIAL PART DINNER SERVICE, WITH ARMS OF STIBBERT, QIANLONG (1736-95), CIRCA 1785 painted with the coat of arms within borders and the motto 'Per Ardua ad Astra', comprising: two baskets and stands, two butter dishes, stands and covers, two custard pots and covers, two pierced-rim dishes, two oval ashets, three octagonal small plates, ten dinner plates, nine soup plates, six cups of which three two-handled, one slop bowl, six tea bowls and eight saucers (61) The arms of Stibbert were granted in 1768 and this service was most likely commissioned by Frederick Stibbert. Little is known of him, although his namesake Frederick Stibbert (b. 1838), heir to a considerable fortune, amassed a vast collection of fine art, armour and antiques which was later bequeathed to the city of Florence, where it is still to be seen today in the Museo Stibbert. The collection includes further pieces from this service. Frederick's father, Thomas, of the Coldstream Guards, fought in the Napoleonic wars, and his grandfather Giles had been Governor of Bengal. (2) Francis Annesley, the 1st Earl of Annesley and 2nd Viscount Glenawly was born in 1740 and created an earl in 1789. He died in 1802. Cf.
