A CHINESE PORCELAIN TEA BOWL, flared rim, painted in the famille verte palette, with butterfly, insects, and a flower garden underglaze but seal mark to base inside double veneration rings, the rim 8.5cm in diameterCondition report: a crack extends from the rim to the inner base of the bowl. The decoration is a border of stylized lotus petals on the bottom and ruyi heads on the top. The central ground was lotus and tendrils. (4)⁂ Alfred Baur (1985-1951) donated his collection to the Baur Foundation shortly before he died. A life long collector, little was known of the breadth and quality of his collection until the present catalogues were published.
