A Pair of Ormolu Mounted Chinese Porcelain Vases and Covers, early 19th century, the blue and white Kangxi vases with slightly raised panels painted with flowers, birds and insects, in later clobbered colours and gilded, within twin dragon scroll shoulder mounts, the flared neck mounts with cast foliate detail, with fluted domed covers, on openwork Japonaiserie ormolu bases with four inscroll feet, each with Lingzhi mark in underglaze blue on the base, 73cm high Vase 1 - cover with restorations to the rim, some rubbing of gilding. Vase with signs of glue around the base (probably to hold the ormolu mounts in place). Also glue on handles and under handle mounts. Heavy glaze stain over the lingzhi mark on base. Metalwork good, but with general pitting. Glue where the neck of the vase meets the metal mounts - possibly cut down - indecisive. Vase 2 - cover rims restored, more heavy rubbing of gilding than on other cover. Vase with crack apparent through the base. Crack running through the base and through lingzhi mark. Crack noticeable in basal rim panel, extends at least 4-5cm up into the lower body. Metal mounts similar to Vase 1, but do not have vestiges of glue beneath. Both vases have some fair rubbing of the gilding throughout. 020615

A Chinese porcelain moon flask, decorated in underglaze blue to both sides with figures in a landscape, a gentleman with ox and dog in foreground, and with applied dragon handles, 30.25 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall some light general wear and scuffs, some firing faults and firing blemishes. A large chip / area missing to the tail of one of the applied dragon handles. But otherwise appears OK.

Two Chinese porcelain circular shallow dishes, each decorated in underglaze blue with eight figures and decorated with three bats to underside and bearing four character mark, together with a paper label inscribed "Kendall Collection CH137", 13.25 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS Overall with general wear and scuffs, some firing and potting blemishes, some unevenness to the potting, some roughness around edges, one dish has various chips and nibbles to foot rim some of which appear to be beneath the glaze, plus both with some minor frits to rims.

Slightly dirty. There are some chips to the footrim. There may be a small area of restoration to the base of the foot - please see images.

A 19th Century Chinese porcelain "Rose Medallion" polychrome decorated deep bowl for the Persian market, with panels decorated with figures and floral sprays, on a blue and gilt decorated ground, with two circular medallions to each outer side bearing Persian script, together with a matching dish with central medallion bearing Persian script, bowl 23 cm diameter x 10 cm high, dish 27.5 cm diameter x 4.75 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The deep bowl has some general wear, scuffs and dirt, and some wear to gilding to rim, plus a few bubbles/firing faults, but generally appears to be sound. The shallow dish makes a very dull and "rattly"sound when tapped and appears to have had over-painting to underside, and underside has become quite yellowed.

A pair of Chinese porcelain gourd shaped vases and covers, each painted in underglaze blue with figures beside a spherical vase and with birds amongst foliage, each bearing four character mark to base, 21.5 cm high including cover and finial and 20.5 cm high including cover and finial CONDITION REPORTS One vase with chips to rim, and broken and glued section to top rim, lid and finial with some chips. Other vase has some large chips to the lid, and a crack to lid. Both vases have some wear, scuffs and firing faults and blemishes.

One vase with crack from rim down vertically into neck and with large chip to rim. Other vase with some small chips to rim and to scroll handle, a few small areas of rubbing and flaking/loss to painted decoration.

Small circular pot and cover has wear and scratches, quite uneven thick glaze varnish effect to the inside. Leaf shaped pot and cover has wear, scuffs and dirt, various firing blemishes and deposits. Small bottle shaped vase has a circle of fabric glued to the foot rim, some general wear and scuffs, and a few small areas of pitting/firing blemishes to glaze, but otherwise appears OK. Oval crackle ware shallow dish has wear, scuffs and dirt, and appears to have had some re-gluing to the metal mount. The two tea bowls have general wear and scuffs, some chips to foot rims, some crazing to glaze, various firing blemishes and deposits, and one has star cracks to underside but which are not visible to the inside.
