An antique Chinese carved hardwood vase stand - early 20th century, 18cm. diameter, 6.1cm. high; together with a Chinese export porcelain coffee cup, painted in black and gilt with a floral reserve and swags; three Chinese porcelain tea bowls, two with famille rose decoration, one with tiny rim chip; a Japanese porcelain bowl, painted with birds and flowers in iron red and gilt, 15.5cm. diameter, cracked; and two Chinese lacquered boxes, one rectangular, lacquered dark brown with gilt dragon and flaming pearl decoration, 21.3 x 12 x 9.6cm. the other of sarcophagus form, black lacquered with mother-of-pearl and relief lacquered decoration depicting birds beneath a gnarled tree and floral sprays, 28.5 x 22.5 x 10.75cm., worn decoration. (8) - Stand: Good condition. Slight fading to colour to upper surfaces.- Coffee cup: Hairline crack to rim. - Tea bowls: Lobed bowl has a small rim chip and short hairline, and a restored chip to rim. The other famille rose bowl with short hairline. Iron red and gilt bowl good, with a small chip inside the foot.- Japanese bowl: Large crack, some gilt wear.- Rectangular box: Some wear to gilt throughout, more notably to the lid. A few tint lacquer chips to the edges. Lacks inner tray.- Sarcophagus box: Lacquer dulled throughout. Chipping to the lacquer to the edges and corners. Lacks inner tray.
