CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ‘BAJIXIANG’ EWER AND COVER, 20th CENTURY The pouring vessel modelled on the archaic bronze ‘He’, a ritual wine vessel. The globular body and diagonally set spout supported by four legs with a squat neck leading into a curved handle and cover. Decorated with ‘Bajixiang’, the eight Buddhist emblems. The interior base of the spout has seven separate holes. Qianlong seal mark to base but later. Together with a hardwood stand with carved Yin-Yang emblem. 23.5cm length 22.5cm tall without stand. Heath had an attraction to this form. During his time in Hong Kong, he attended a Christie’s sale of ‘Fine Chinese Ceramics, Jade and Works of Art’ at the Mandarin Hotel on 13th January 1987. Two 19th century English porcelain twin handled covered sucriers with blue and gilt decoration, each 15cm high; also a pair of modern Portuguese Chinese style covered vases decorated with flowers and foliage, each 24cm high. (4). Twin handled sucrier loop handles: Crazing and discolouration to body in interior and close to foot. Corner of base cracked and numbered 2 518. Wear to gilding.remaining sucrier: wear to both handles and a chip to the underside. Gilding rubbed on rim. Blue paintwork blotchy and streaked.
Pair of 19th century Chinese famille rose large porcelain covered vases of baluster form, each with continuous band of decoration depicting ladies in a garden feeding chickens, with multiple borders of butterflies amongst flowers, lattice, scrolls and acanthus leaves, both unmarked, each 36cm high. (2). Condition report:Vase 1 - glaze impurities, some rubbing to gilding and enamel. Two hair cracks to rim approx. 1" and ½". Noticeable glaze impurity to rim of cover.Vase 2 - visible glaze impurities, some firing cracks as images. Some wear and rubbing to gilding and enamels. Underglaze nick to foot rim. Faint firing cracks to base. Firing crack and air bubbles and glaze impurities to cover.
Chinese porcelain scent bottle of waisted rectangular form, decorated with two scrolling red dragons with red agate stopper, painted character marks, 7cm high and another of flattened baluster form decorated with bamboo fronds and calligraphy, painted red marks, 7cm high. (2). Flattened baluster bottle: Gilding rubbed, chips to foot and rim. Painted bamboo fronds exhibit signs of wear.

Four Chinese blue and white porcelain plates, comprising: circular plate decorated with two phoenix amongst lotus flowers, with lotus flower border and underglaze blue painted incense burner mark, 21cm diam.; "Dragon and Carp" blue and white plate with lobed border, unmarked, 21cm diam.; an octagonal plate decorated with figures on a terrace, unmarked, 22cm diam. and a circular plate decorated with pavilions in a landscape, 23cm diam. (4). All plates have considerable chips to rims. Pagoda plate has a series of large firing glaze impurities. Hairline cracks to pagoda and octagona plates.
